As part of the Projects Group, the construction department includes non-contentious and contentious teams. Our clients include developers, major corporations, funders, contractors, sub-contractors, local authorities, registered social landlords and PFI consortia.

Our Service

We advise, draft and negotiate:

  • all standard and bespoke forms of building, development, facilities management and engineering agreements and professional appointments

  • supply and services agreements, supply chain management arrangements, out-sourcing and all aspects of procurement (including EU Procurement Rules)

  • all forms of security and ancillary project documents including bonds, guarantees, novation agreements and collateral warranties

We also carry out due diligence on the construction elements of corporate acquisitions and disposals.

The team is a market leader in advising its public sector clients on the implementation of framework agreements to meet the challenge of the EU Procurement Rules and on best value procurement generally.

Well-drafted, commercially balanced agreements help to minimise the occurrence of disputes and to clearly apportion liability if things go wrong. Our dispute resolution team offers practical and commercial dispute avoidance and pre-contentious advice and advises claimants and respondents in all aspects of adjudication, arbitration and High Court proceedings.
