I applied to Devonshires as I wanted to work for a firm that would provide me with relevant and comprehensive training on which to build a career. I felt that working with a medium sized city firm would offer me greater opportunity to gain early responsibility; forcing me to develop new skills quickly and progress as a solicitor. To my delight, this was proved correct from my first day. The workload has been varied and certainly interesting. Although I have only been here a few weeks I have been provided with plenty of early responsibility and have already attended conferences with counsel and medical experts, as well as meetings with clients.
The firm prides itself on ensuring that trainees get the most out of the training experience and encourage involvement in professional and social activities from day one. From the open door policy to the continuing support on offer, Devonshires really is a friendly place to work. I look forward to facing the challenges that lie ahead and I am confident that I have made the right choice in deciding to work for Devonshires.
