Revised EU Procurement Thresholds Published by the OGC

The Office of Government and Commerce (“OGC”) has announced that with effect from 1 January 2010 the financial thresholds at which the EU Procurement Regulations apply will be raised to £3,927,260 for works contracts and £156,442 for services and supply contracts. Both amounts are exclusive of VAT.

In very general terms, if a contracting authority wants to award a contract with a value in excess of the relevant threshold it must advertise it in the Official Journal of the European Union and competitively tender it in accordance with the Regulations.
