Emmet is a Solicitor in Construction Department. Having joined Devonshires in September 2009, Emmet deals with wide range of construction dispute work including professional negligence claims and construction based dispute work including, adjudication and Technology & Construction Court proceedings.
Emmet has advised housing associations, businesses and private individuals on claims against surveyors, solicitors, and construction professionals. In addition, he has experience in claims and disputes in the technology and construction courts, and in adjudication proceedings, acting for a variety of housing associations owners, developers, specialist subcontractors and consultants. Emmet also has an interest in more general property litigation areas advising on rights to light & dilapidation claims.
Emmet has a broad range of non-contentious experience including pre-contract advice and advising on a range of standard form of construction contract. Emmet has experience of drafting and negotiating amendments to standard construction contracts and collateral warranties on behalf of funders, contractors and consultants; drafting and negotiating professional appointments.
Emmet is a member of the Society of Construction Law and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
