Gareth is a Partner in the Banking and Governance Team and also the firm’s IT Partner.
Gareth joined Devonshires from Simmons & Simmons, a leading City firm, where he had 10 years' experience of corporate/commercial and corporate finance transactions including pioneering work on listed stock issues for Social Housing Providers. He has over 20 years' professional experience of the social housing sector.
He handles a complete range of constitutional and corporate matters including group structures; charity law issues; mergers/transfers and acquisitions and equity issues. He combines in-depth knowledge of the workings of both charitable/non-profit and commercial trading bodies.
Gareth has provided policy advice to regulatory bodies and major clients on the reforms made by the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 and the new regulatory regime, and has lectured on this.
He has established a thriving commercial practice which has advised on over 300 contracts for supply and support of IT systems and other commercial goods, works and services. He advises a number of common procurement vehicles on establishment of framework agreements.
Gareth advises on financing transactions of all kinds ranging from conventional bilateral and syndicated loans to stock and bond issues, equity investments and stock transfer, PFI and LIFT finance. He is an expert on shared equity loans and related products.
