Partner
Julian is a Partner in the Banking and Governance Team. Julian joined Devonshires in 2005 and works in Andrew Cowan's team. He advises on all aspects of finance made available to Registered Providers, including syndicated and bilateral loans, the funding of LSVTs, PFI funding and interest rate derivatives and related security. He also advises on security trustee arrangements in connection with the group funding arrangements of Registered Providers.
Notable transactions:
- Acting for Circle Anglia, Orbit and Great Places groups in connection with their recently completed group refinancing;
- Acting for the Circle Anglia Group in connection with its recent bond issues;
- Acting for Middlesex First in connection with the Middlesex University PFI project;
- Acting for Lloyds TSB Bank plc on its loans to finance a number of LSVTs, including North Norfolk Housing Trust, Halton Housing Trust, RCT Homes, Derwentside Homes, Castle Morpeth, Meres and Mosses, Gedling Homes and Berwick Housing;
- Acting for Old Ford Housing Association in connection with its LSVT funding arrangements.
A Natural Sciences graduate from Durham University, Julian completed his legal training at Simmons and Simmons. From there he went on to a role in the general banking groups at Allen and Overy and then to Eversheds’ Cambridge office where he acted for both banks and borrowers on various acquisitions, MBOs and property financing transactions.
Prior to joining Devonshires, Julian was at S J Berwin LLP, where he acted for both banks and borrowers on corporate share acquisitions and property financing transactions.
