Neil is a Partner in the Housing Management Department. Neil qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and joined Devonshires in 2003.

His responsibilities include conducting housing litigation which involves defending disrepair claims and advising clients of settlements, bringing actions for nuisance such as possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour injunctions and anti-social behaviour orders, bringing possession actions for unlawful sub-letting, non occupation and disputed succession claims following the death of a tenant.

Neil also conducts general property litigation which includes both residential and commercial properties. This includes working on matters in relation to claims for forfeiture, business lease renewal claims under Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, service charge disputes including recovery of unpaid service charges and consultation and Judicial Review. As such Neil conducts cases in the County Courts, High Court, Magistrates Courts and Tribunals.

As well as conducting contentious cases Neil also provides non-contentious advice in respect of housing management and general property matters including drafting tenancy agreements and advising on policies and procedures. Neil’s main clients are housing associations.
