Nick Billingham

Nick is a Partner and Head of the Housing Management Department.

Nick has over 17 years' experience of advising Registered Providers and local authorities in relation to housing litigation including possession proceedings; actions to restrain anti-social behaviour; injunctions and disrepair actions in the County Court; High Court proceedings such as judicial review and injunctive proceedings. He also advises social landlords on housing policy and procedure and the protection of tenants' rights on stock transfers to social landlords and has lectured to the Local Government Group on the subject.

Nick has been recognised as a leading lawyer in the social housing field by Chambers UK Legal Directory and the Legal 500 for the last 6 years.

Nick has been involved in a number of high profile cases, including London & Quadrant –v- Weaver (2008), Riverside –v- White (2007), L B Lambeth –v- Kay (2006), Bruton -v- London & Quadrant Housing Trust (2000) and Newlon -v- Alsulaimen (1998).

Nick was one of the contributing authors to Jordan’s Guide to the Housing Act 1996 and is one of the founding members of the Social Housing Law Association. He has also appeared on the Legal Television Education Network and regularly lectures to clients on a wide range of housing management and property litigation issues.

Nick is a Board member and Director of Colchester Borough Homes.
