I am delighted to be training with Devonshires and am really enjoying my first seat in Litigation Housing Management.
I applied for a training contract with Devonshires as I wanted to work for a medium sized firm with diverse practice areas as well as specialist expertise. Having previously worked in the public sector, I was also attracted to the firm's established public sector client base.
From my first interview I was sure Devonshires was the firm for me and I haven't been disappointed. My first few weeks in Litigation Housing Management have brought challenges and early responsibility and I feel as though I have already learned a huge amount. I have been to hearings at three different County Courts, liaised with clients and Counsel and conducted research for a recent seminar and ongoing cases.
Most importantly for me, every member of staff I have worked with so far at Devonshires has been extremely supportive and approachable and the firm's open door policy makes it easy to ask experienced members of staff for advice and guidance when faced with a new challenge.
The firm prides itself on its high quality work and the time and energy it invests in its trainees. You feel as though you are making a contribution and doing 'real work' from day one and I am confident I will continue to be offered challenging work and increasing responsibility throughout my training contract at Devonshires.
