What We Do

Governance and remuneration

Devonshires regularly advise on the options available for establishing not for profit organisations. These can include, setting up companies, Industrial and Provident Societies, trusts, Community Interest Companies (CICs) and, shortly, CIO’s.

We are able to consider, at the outset, the type of “over the immediate horizon” issues that will be relevant when applying for registration of charity such as control, conflicts of interest and remuneration of trustees.

We are aware of the different regulatory regimes that relate to remuneration and expenses. For example, charities which are also subject to Tenant Services Authority (TSA) regulation need to assess the impact of the TSA’s Schedule 1 regime (with which we are also familiar).
