For the last ten years Devonshires has developed strong relationships with head teachers, governors and LEAs by providing cutting edge and solution driven advice on educational and related matters.
The last year has seen a seismic change in how state education is to be run and delivered. With the Coalition Government’s Academies Act 2010, Comprehensive Spending Review and the approaching Localism Bill, the focus is on community investment and value for money. Gone are the days of bloated procurements for new schools.
Free schools and Academies herald a new era of community control and modest investment. Devonshires are at the forefront of this process providing guidance to the bodies driving the change and assisting schools, free school proposers and local authorities adapt to the changes.
Outside the office
Supporting schools is our focus and this support extends beyond the ‘office’. Our trainees come from a range of different backgrounds and are dedicated to spending time in schools listening to pupils and talking about potential career paths and the importance of education. We also offer placement programmes for those pupils who are interested in a career in law or wish to gain some office experience throughout their later school years.
Fundamental goal
Our fundamental goal at Devonshires is to invest in education and to build long standing relationships with schools through providing accessible, independent and committed legal advice.
So how can we help you?
Our resources match the particular needs of schools and local authorities and our specialists have extensive experience in all aspects of the education sector. As such we are able to provide the full range of legal services to maintained schools, free schools and academies.
